Carrot Halwa/ கேரட் அல்வா/ Gajar Halwa




Ingredients: கேரட் / carrot 🥕- 1 kg பால் / Milk - 1/2 liter தித்திப்பு இல்லாத பால் கோவா/ Unsweetened Milk Kova or koya- 200 gms ஏலக்காய் பொடி / Cardomom powder -1 tsp முந்திரிப்பருப்பு / Cashews- 12 திராட்சை / Kismis - 10 குங்குமப்பூ / saffron- little நெய் / Ghee - 3 to 4 tsp Method: Fry cashews and kismis in 3 tsp of ghee and keep aside Wash and grate carrots. Take carrots in a cooker pan & add milk to that. Cook with milk in the cooker & keep it for 3 whistles. After opening the cooker lid , boil the remaining milk in the carrot for 10 minutes. Then add sugar and mix. Stir frequently. Again the sugar and carrots to be cooked till we get thick consistency. Add ghee to that and mix. Add saffron and fried cashews and kismis to that and mix nicely. Our yummy carrot Halwa is ready to serve. It is very tasty with ice cream on top of it.
