Ingredients:
அரிசி /Rice- 1/2 cup
தண்ணீர் / Water- 1 cup
பால் / Milk - 1 cup
உப்பு / Salt - to taste
கடுகு / Mustard- 1/2 tsp
உளுத்தம்பருப்பு / Ulad dal- 1/2 tsp
பச்சை மிளகாய் / Green chili- 2
இஞ்சி/ ginger- small piece
சிகப்பு மிளகாய் / red chilli- 1
கருவேப்பிலை/ Curry leaves- little
தயிர் / Curd - 1 cup
மாதுளை முத்துக்கள் / Pomegranate- little
Method:
Wash rice and add milk & water to that. Keep in cooker to cook the rice.
Heat 2 tsp of oil in a tadka pan. Add mustard, ulad dal, ginger, green chili & red chilli to that. Cool the same and keep it aside.
After cooking the rice mash it nicely and cool the same. After cooling add the curd, salt to that and mix nicely.
We can add more milk for required consistency. While travelling we need not add salt , at the time of serving we can add salt so that curd rice will not become sour.
After mixing add the tadka and mix. Keep curd rice in refrigerator to cool. While serving add pomegranate for decoration. We can add grated carrots or grapes to that and serve.
