Vengaya Killu Vadam/ onion Vadam/ onion vathal vadam/ onion vadi

Ingredients:

இட்லி அரிசி / Idly rice- 2 cups

ஜவ்வரிசி / Sabudana- 1/2 cup

உப்பு / Salt - to taste

பச்சை மிளகாய் விழுது / green chilli paste- 1 1/2 tsp

எண்ணை/ oil - 2 tsp

எலுமிச்சம்பழம் சாறு/ Lemon juice - 1 to 2 tsp

தண்ணீர் / water - 10 cups
( 2 cups of water to grind the rice)
(2 cups to cook Sabudana)
( 6 cups to cook rice batter)

Method:

Wash & soak rice for 4 hrs. Grind to a paste in grinder.

Soak Sabudana overnight . Grind to a paste. Keep 2 cups of water in a pan and cook Sabudana till becomes glazy.

Keep 6 cups of water in a heavy bottom Kadhai. When it boils add 2 tsp of oil, salt ,green chili & mix. Then add the rice batter and cook it in a medium flame. When it cooks add boiled Sabudana , onion Lemon juice & mix it nicely.

Check whether the rice is cooked properly by touching with a wet hand.
Then cool the batter nicely and keep small Vadam in a plate greased with oil.
Dry the same for 2 days in hot sun. Our onion killu Vadam is ready to fry.
