கடலைப்பருப்பு சுண்டல்/Chana Dal for Navratri Bhog/ How to make Bengal gram Neivedhyam for Navratri

Ingredients: கடலைப்பருப்பு / Bengal gram- 1 cup உப்பு / Salt - to taste ( 3/4 tsp) பச்சை மிளகாய் / Green chili- 4 எண்ணை / Oil - 2 tsps சிகப்பு மிளகாய் / Red chili- 1 இஞ்சி / Ginger - 1 tsp ( grated) கருவேப்பிலை / Curry leaves- little துருவிய தேங்காய் / Grated coconut- 4 tbsps கடுகு / Mustard - 1 tsp Method: Wash & soak bengal gram . Soak in water for 2.5 hrs. Boil 3 cups of water in a pan. Add the soaked dal in that & add little turmeric powder to that. Cook for 20 to 25 minutes in medium flame. Dal should not be cooked till it gets mashed. Just it should be cooked. Drain the dal from water. Heat oil in a kadhai. Once it pops add green chili, red chili & ginger to that. Sauté for 1 minute. Then add dal to that . Add little salt & coconut . Mix well. Chana dal Sunday is ready for bhog now for Devi. Enjoy Ranjis flavours!
